Location

For my location, it had to have an interesting backdrop, to make sure the viewers were interested in the rest of the video. The chosen set that i am using is a run down Mansion near london in Westminster. The Mansion has been completely ripped to shreds inside. This is perfect for me as it fits the band, song and genre of what i am aiming towards.

Here are some pictures of what my location looks like:

Here is the picture form the outside of the run down Mansion. Here is what it looks like from the inside:

Here is another picture of the ruins of the downstairs in the basement:

I really love the chosen location, as it is going to be fascinating inside the building, so it will look great in the music video.

Lighting Plan

Here is the set up for the lighting, as you can see I have used a Four point lighting set up. This is so the band is filled with light, and also creates a depth of field to create the illusion.

I really like the set up for the lighting as it is correct for the type of band and video that I am using.

Lyrics

Here are the lyrics to the song called 'gotta little soul.'

Walking down the street last night,
shadow of the wind crawls behind,
and ime holding onto what ive got,
cos my heart feels so inclined,

and ime not gonna throw it all away x2

And you give a little laughter, cry a little joy. its not that hard to do,
And you give a little laughter, cry a little joy, well ime holding onto you,

Gotta little soul in you

Soul in you x2

Walking down the street last night,
shadow of the wind crawls behind,
well ime holding onto what ive got,
cos my heart feels so inclined,

and ime not gonna throw it all away, x2

And you give a little laughter, cry a little joy. its not that hard to do,
And you give a little laughter, cry a little joy, well ime holding onto you,

Gotta little soul in you

Soul in you x3

and how long must i wait for you,
and how long
must i wait for you
and how long
must i wait for you, wait for you
must i wait for you x2
how long, must i wait for you, yeah, yeah

Costumes

As I am using a real live band in my music video I thought about creating an image for them, but then I thought it would look better if they had their own style of what they wear. I have got a picture of freddie's style of clothing, to give you an idea on their style.

Here is a Picture of Freddie's style of clothing:

As you can see that he has a hippy look, so the image of the band genre fits in really well with his look.

Shot styles

Shot sizes are really important as they reveal the set, style and the image of the Artist. I am writing about the sizes because I know it is really important to use the correct shots at the right time of the song.

Close up

A close up shot is really useful as it can show emotion, and the expression on the person's face. Close ups are really interesting to use for high detail.

Mid Shot

Mid Shots are also used to capture upper body movement, especially hand gestures. It is still a shot that can help reveal facial emotion. Mid shots are used often in between Close up's the reason for this is because Close up shots can come across as quiet intrusive the viewer may start to feel slightly uncomfortable.

Long Shot

Long shots are really good to show the full body and a slightly revealing for the set. They are also used to create a sense of where the shot is, either on the set, or a chosen location that I would use for Freddie

Wide Shot

A wide shot is mainly used in film and movies as an establishing shot. This will help the audience to capture what is going on and allow them to not miss out on crucial detail that they may miss out on if a close up was used. This is mainly at an ending shot, because you want to hold the revealing end shot near to the end of the video.

Research: Style of my music video

Here is the style of Music video that I am aiming towards, by how it is filmed. I am only going to change the boy and girl theme to where half of it is shot in the studio (with low key lighting). The other half of my chosen locations, is that I am going to decide on a final 8 locations to shoot at. The reason why I am shooting in this style, because I know that it would be too original to just shoot a video about a boy and girl in love. As it has been done in nearly every video about a boy and a girl, meeting each other.

Here is the Music video that was uploaded onto YouTube, of the Busking for Cancer Gig that I went to in Camden:

The singer in this phone video is Freddie Dickson, This is his new song that is coming out this week. The song that i chose to use is called 'Get a little soul', I chose this song because it fits my idea, upbeat. But most importantly it will keep the viewers interested. I really like this song as it is annoyingly quite a catchy song!
